Chase Sapphire Lounge BOS: The best lounge in the US right now?

Chase has finally entered the premium card lounge scene with the Chase Sapphire Lounge. The one in Hong Kong received glowing reviews after it opened, so they already set a high bar for themselves. Well, they absolutely nailed it! Honestly, I’d even visit this lounge if I weren’t flying (which is TOTALLY not what I did….)

Access

This lounge is technically a Priority Pass lounge, but each card has unique access rules. For those with a Chase Sapphire Reserve Priority Pass membership, you get unlimited access to the lounge year-round. For those with a different Priority Pass, you get one free visit to any Chase Sapphire lounge per calendar year. Unfortunately, the Chase Sapphire Preferred does not grant entry into this lounge.

Location

This lounge is in the new B-C connector at Logan, near Gate B39. The entrance isn’t obvious (dark text on a dark background) and is very easy to miss. Just look to the left of the Hudson store and you’re there. The lounge is 2 levels above the main concourse, so it offers some decent views of the apron.

It’s a decent walk from both the Terminal B and C security checkpoints. But it’s worth the trek, as you will read below.

Lounge Details

This lounge has a pretty open concept and is beautifully decorated. They did a very good job of keeping a consistent motif across seating areas. There was a buffet and dining section, a large bar section near the entrance, and a few other chairs against the windows. The windows were large and wrapped around the entire lounge, awesome for planespotting!

There also seems to be a draft beer taproom, but it wasn’t open when I visited.

I arrived for dinner, and there were quite a few selections available. The buffet (called the “servery”) featured Honey Ginger Chicken, brussel sprouts, Braised Beef Bourguignon, and a variety of cold plates.

Chase Sapphire Lounge Buffet

There are also QR menu items that come straight from the kitchen. They’re made to order, and most dishes are pretty tasty. I really feel this food selection is about the same level as Capital One’s food. They are both solid and near restaurant quality.

Most drinks at the bar were complimentary, except for top-shelf liquor. But regardless, the bartenders were very good at their job and the signature cocktails were quite delicious. I would rank these cocktails as better than any of the ones I’ve had at Centurion or Capital One Lounges.

The lounge also features a shower area and relaxation rooms. Those can be booked through the same QR code as ordering food and are also complimentary. This is useful for international trips, assuming you are willing to walk all the way around to Terminal E after finishing.

There are PLENTY of outlets available to charge up devices, which is a huge perk. They are under the bar, on the floors, on the walls, on the tables…everywhere!

Top Tips

Surprisingly, the burger in this lounge is very very good. Their fries are seasoned well and fried perfectly (not like In-N-Out). In previous lounge visits, they offered Korean BBQ chicken croquettes, which were amazing. I would skip any items with rice or grains, as they often came out old and a bit hard. The noodles were fine, though portions were a bit smaller.

For any QR code food items, be prepared to wait. It took about 15 minutes for my food to come out, so order first if you want to try anything. Also, book your showers early as space is limited.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge is in a pretty secluded area of Logan, so leave sufficient time to get to your gate. I would highly recommend mapping your path ahead of time. It is about equidistant from both the Terminal B and C checkpoints. I would clear security near the United counters in Terminal B if you have Clear, but Terminal C if you have TSA PreCheck.

Final Thoughts

The Chase Sapphire Lounge in Boston is a solid option. Their food and amenities offerings are very good, on par with many other premium lounges in the US. It’s certainly an improvement over other Priority Pass lounges. I would personally go out of my way to visit. This is a much-needed improvement from The Lounge in Terminal C (which is mediocre, at best).
